We are Jonathan and Kari McMullen, passionate hobby breeders of British Shorthair cats. Our cats and kittens are registered with The International Cat Association (TICA), the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF), and/or Loving Cats Worldwide (LCWW). As hobby breeders, we treat our cats and kittens like family members. They live indoors, are never confined to cages or enclosures, and are raised in a warm, loving environment with plenty of affection and human interaction.

While we may be new to breeding cats, we have experience in breeding. In the early 2000s, we bred the rare Mi-Ki dog breed and quickly realized how much joy it brought into our lives. We loved that our daughters grew up surrounded by our beloved pets and found great fulfillment in sharing them with others.

Our love for the British Shorthair breed began in 2012 when we were searching for the perfect feline companion for our family. After extensive research, we fell in love with the British Shorthair due to its exceptional qualities—hypoallergenic fur, affectionate yet independent nature, intelligence, good manners, and its ability to get along with children and other pets. Some even suggest that the “Cheshire Cat” from Alice in Wonderland was modeled after a British Shorthair! We knew without a doubt that this was the perfect breed for us.

Over the years, we sadly said goodbye to our dogs, and our daughters grew into lives of their own, leaving us empty nesters. But our love for the British Shorthair breed only grew stronger. When the house felt a bit too quiet, we couldn’t resist adding more British Shorthair cats to our family. We now have six!
